i was able to get my independent study dilemma cleared up this afternoon, and it looks like i'm gonna get an "incomplete" on my grade card. since it's been slow going for me to work with my professor, we're gonna work for the first month of spring semester to finish everything up. which is a load of my shoulders for the time being.
hey eva, i had fun chillin with you tonight, i miss hanging out with you, but rest assured, this video's gonna rock!
we're about finished with lead guitar now, and completely finshed with bass and drums. it was another long night tonight. and yes, i know it's 3am, i must be lonely.
the onslaught of schoolwork continues tomorrow, with math project and an english paper. c'mon turkey day.
and c'mon bucks, biggest game of the season thus far is tomorrow, here's my keys to success:
1) krenzel, play a little less conservative, throw the ball into coverage a bit more. you've got good receivers.
2) tressel, please run outside the tackles sometime in the game
3) clarrett, please play.
and then osu will win.

calc test was dang near impossible. no one was finished when the 1:15 hour class was up. of the 7 problems, 2 were very sketchy, the rest were still shady. i didn't even finish one. it's really frustrating, seeing how much i studied for that test, and not much good is going to come out of it.
tomorrow i'm traveling up to UT to meet with my professor, i've been working a lot on my independent study up there and its going ok, we haven't met much so i'm not completely sure i'm even doing the right thing. but i don't care so much anymore. i used to be a stickler to keep my grades perfect, and i'm very surprised i haven't gotten a 'b' yet, but i'm ready to accept it and move on. probably calc, maybe this indep. study if i'm way off on my project. which is ok, since my grad apps will already have been in by then, and i should still be able to graduate summa cum laude, which is a goal of mine.
pwd's laying down the bass tonight, i haven't been able to stay long at the recording sessions due to the aforementioned schoolwork. i'd like to post some picts and sound clips from the finished tracks soon.
we lost the flag football championship, 27-19, i need to learn not to ever lateral the football again. it was a fun loss though, as it was raining and cold and very muddy, so afterwards ray and i slid for about 20 feet on our stomachs in the mud, it was a fun time. and i drove home in my underwear, i was so filthy.
i'll be up in 6 hours for another long day. c'mon, turkey day.

we advanced to the championship flag football game today, despite my inability to do anything on offense or defense. tomorrow's the championship game, and i'm already getting a little nervous for it.
but even bigger is my calculus exam tomorrow. i've been studying a ton for it, and i'm actually starting to get some problems right. the cool thing about math is that usually you don't have to memorize anything - you just need to know techniques, and the way of getting from point A to point B. sometimes we have proofs on exams, and our profs tell us not to memorize the solution, but rather to "follow your nose" and work through the problem. of course, it also helps if you know the material down cold.
unfortunately though, the schoolwork doesn't end at that exam, i'm gonna be up to my neck in math until sunday, and english until monday. THEN i will sleep and eat and run and still not put away my clothes or clean my room. that'll come sometime later, i promise.

i think i was home for about 45 minutes between 9am and 2am today. it was a day. i'm exhausted, but happy.
we won our football intramurals by forfeit, and then basketball went 2-1. our team's pretty good, i'm probably the worst player, but it's really fun still. thanks to kevin, we also signed up for intramural track. that's right, 5 IM sports this semester, that's a personal record.
we're laying down guitar tracks now. jesse and brett (and consequently, me too) are perfectionists. we've done hundreds of takes over the last two weeks, it's ridiculous how good everything sounds though. i wonder if they'll even sleep tonight. i keep coming home early (by early, i mean 2:30am) to work on schoolwork and that crap.
the funniest thing happened today. i was running late for the football game, and was going crazy getting all my crap together. i haven't cleaned up my laundry yet; its still folded in the basement. so i'm jumping about 4 stairs at a time going up and down. on my way down to the basement, i leap the last set and *crack!* i rail my head on the ceiling (which happens to be the upstairs). down i go, my hat falls off, landing on my back, and putting a little dent in the drywall. "oh my gosh!! that hurt! why can't anybody be around when i do stupid crap like this" is what i said. seriously, it had to have been awesome to see. and my head, with a little dried blood on it, still hurts really bad right now. i think i laughed while laying on the ground.
oh yeah, i met with dr. duncan today, and he may be the coolest professor ever. i revert back to one of my first blogs: talk to your professors!

a few final touches on "ivy league" and its finished. that's 1/4 of the recording, it only took us about 15 hours for the whole stinkin' song. we started up on our newest and somewhat titled "ken shroyer." hopefully we'll have all the drums finished by the end of the week.
i've been home for about 5 minutes since this morning, and unfortunately, that's how the rest of my days are gonna be this week. tomorrow starts intramural football playoffs, and the 3-on-3 basketball regular season, plus more pwd recording and loads of schoolwork. sorry if you don't see me. i miss seeing you too.
and yes, my nose is still cold.

in my apartment, my nose is cold because the roomies like to keep the temp below 70 to save on gas bills. i woke up once last week with the thermostat reading a balmy 59 degrees. it may be nice to sleep to, but it sucks to wake up to, and step out of a warm shower into the cold apartment air.
i'm definitely cracking down on my independent study, i've not really done very much for it at all. i've also been studying my nuts of for a calc test on thurs, and feeling better by the minute.
we started recording drums today, it took us a few hours to set up and tune and everything. it was kind of discouraging since we only walked away with about 20 seconds of drums recorded after about 5 hours in the band room. we'll be working all week on it. for some reason, pinewood always decides to record a week or two before finals, when school's at its worst. it makes the last month go by so fast.
c'mon, thanksgiving.

what a waste. i got a lot done this afternoon, and consequently didn't have much to do tonight in the way of schoolwork. i coudn't really find anyone, so i was pretty much bored. i took a drive out in the country to think, like i usually do when i have something to think about, except this time i didn't really have anything to think about, so pretty much all i did was waste gas. i did pick up a chicken quesadillo a taco bell, so the night was not a complete waste.
it's not like i didn't have anything to do around the apt. my room & study room are a mess; i probably have more clothes on the floor than in drawers. but who wants to clean up on a night like this? not me. i'd rather just chill out and work on the new pwd website, work on some research, study some math, and drive out in the country.
and from the number of people i talked to on AIM, i'm guessing not much was going on anywhere. it's humbling, i guess.
and i'm not tired at all, but i have to be up by 8:30, so i'm probably gonna do some good hard reading. i kind of want to pick up harry potter, but i've already read the entire series three times (yes, three), and so that would only make me want to read all four books within a week, which isn't good with all the school and intramural stuff going on. and recording!
justin, andrew, joel, mike, everyone: don't stop the rants. you guys have good thoughts.
