what a life. its so much more enjoyable after a long 15 week semester. i still feel like i've got some school hanging over my head - namely, one last math assignment and my independent study, but as for now, i'm free.

not only that, but i think i'm actually a person again, not some robot churning out math homework and reading about sex in the 1950s. i was chillin with jesse tonight, watching 'lord of the flies' of all things, and kicking back and enjoying the time off. i love hanging out, low-key. there's enough stress during the school year, why should there be any on vacation? i think i finally have my life back. i even picked up the ole' six-string for a while today, i haven't played in ages.

if there's one down side to the Q-4 apt., its that we don't have a dreamer. not that my roomies don't dream - they do, but nothing like jesse. he talks of living in colorado or maine or yellowstone, going on skiing/backpacking trips or climbing and hiking. he's learning photography. he just finished reading 'lord of the flies' (hence watching the movie). thats what this world needs more of, dreamers. we already have enough people telling us what we can and cannot do.

justin, keep on dreaming. you know i'll fight next to you, too.

if i go to colorado for school next year, i may move out there a few months early in the summer. i mean, if i have to live somewhere, why not be colorado? hopefully jesse and ray and pat can be out there, too. and you, reading this, should too.

i'm really excited for you guys. its been awhile since i've been excited for friends, i'll tell you that much. but now that andrew, justin, mike, joel, stuart esp. & the bible study guys, esp. older friends coming along like kurt, and even new friends like beth, roommates esp. ray, of course my bro tim, i'm really glad to have gotten to know all of you better this semester, i hope these friendships last through & past college. because it seems *just now* that i've gotten past my high school friends, and found my 'real' ones. you all rock real hard. like, putting your fist in the air, chanting some 80s anthem rock song, that's how much you rock. or vanilla ice singing "go ninja, go ninja go!" in teenage mutant ninja turtles 2.

okay, one paper down, one about finished, and a nice answer to calculus extra credit i found on the internet. i'll be done tomorrow, i promise.

jeff & kathleen are back in town, praise the Lord, i can't stop grinning. as soon as jeff came home, tim had to stand next to him and show that jeff, while 6 years older, is only 3 inches taller than him. but sorry guys, you'll never catch me! well, maybe you'll catch me in a race, because you're both faster than me, but not if i had a head start or kicked you in the knees before we started.

my run today absolutely sucked, i cramped up reeeeal bad. thats what you get for taking 4 days off i guess. i'm gonna go ahead and blame that on my exams.

new dashboard unplugged cd: really good, the crowd is loud & obnoxious.

the end of the semester is within sight!

andrew, you definitely have some good thoughts in your blog regarding MIT, maybe i shouldn't discount it so quickly. i dunno. i'll do some thinking and praying, neither of which i've done much of for the past week unfortunately. most of my thinking & praying time comes during long runs, and i missed my last two running days due to stupid exams. maybe i should reconsider what i'm looking for in grad school, and see where i can invest my talents the most (although, if that's in a calculus book, i'm not interested right now). i hope God gives both of us grace on calculus exams, for that matter.

well, justin, i'm glad you caught my un-edited blog yesterday. you talked me out of MIT when you said something like, "wow, so MIT, huh?" and pretty much i just needed to hear someone say that. i mean, maybe i could make it there, but i wouldn't have a life, and as the beats said back in the 50s, what's the point of living if just to pay the bills? i could work really hard at school there for 3 years but thats *still 3 years* so why shouldn't i actually be enjoying it? that's my philosophy, anyway.

my calc test went okay. it was hard, i had a few weird answers, so it's up in the air if i pull off an 'a' or not, but because it's up in the air, i'm working on a math project for extra credit. which is fine, except who wants to work on more school crap when its finals week?

my family will be together again tomorrow, just in time for tim's 17th birthday. that's right folks, my kid brother is 17. and yes, he can beat you up. he's way smart, nice, a 3-sport athlete, and yes ladies, he's single. my older brother jeff, on the other hand, is also smart, nice, an athlete, but not single. as for me you ask? well, i suppose i'm more similar to tim than jeff. and thats cool with me right now.

if you came to read this blog between the hours of 1am-10am on tuesday, you saw some emo material that i realized was dumb and so i deleted it. bonus for you.

justin, i'm working on my "year in review according to eric" and at first i scoffed at your idea of 25 pages, but now i realize that mine will be at least that long, it's like 5-6 and i'm not even through march yet.

talking me out of mit: first place goes to justin edwards, second place to ray.

brittan, i'll email you as soon as these finals are over.

ouch. finals. i've been studying a lot for my big calc exam tomorrow, i feel good now, but that's probably for other reasons. not because i've gotten many homework problems right. i really suck at those. i really just hope that i have my wits about me tomorrow, some of these problems can be figured out without memorizing anything. or so i tell myself.

seriously, as soon as the calc is finished i'm going to party hardy. i don't even care about my other classes!

whenever i see 'a beautiful mind' it actually motivates me to study. its such a good movie, finally us math people get some press. but let me give a little disclaimer, the stuff i study is much more applied, i don't really study as much theoretical junk as nash worked on while at princeton. i did, however, recognize one of his equations as the the divergence "boundary" if you will, if you add up 1/1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4, etc., it is a special case where the final answer (after you add it an infinite amount of times) will be infinity. a lot of series actually converge to a certain number, in case you were wondering (and i'm sure you were).

i did not change out of my pajamas today. and i even left the house. but only to study :( it'll all be over soon, or so they tell me.

my roommate's listening to rap right now.
