so the today i woke myself up with a nice 6-7 mile run with alaska justin and kathy. thats right, i freaking got up at 9:30am just to run for 52 minutes in the cold & wind. my legs were stiff after yesterday's football game (nice play-by-play, justin) but other than that, it was good to be outside.
on the run i noticed the arby's sign that says "open in 7 days - december 30" and so i did some quick mental math and asked the question, "is today december 23?" how the heck did christmas sneak up on me? i hadn't gotten any presents, nor did i feel like my heart was ready for christmas, all i've been doing is stressing out over school, and then running a lot of miles, and somewhere i lost track of the days. so today i spent shopping *the whole day* and am just about finished (quite an accomplishment, if you ask me). i hope to be able to take a step out of the christmas busy-ness to realize what everything's about, too.
it had been about 4 or 5 months since i've been to westfield "franklin park" mall, and i don't believe i've seen so many girls (hot & otherwise) in the same location at one time. not to be surface-y, but where do all these girls even come from? and who has the money to even buy half the crap in the stores? $64 for a pair of jeans? seriously! i could do a nice mall rant here, but i won't.
so the day was spent hanging out with kurt, a. justin, and kathy, which was awesome, i don't think anyone has changed a bit since the summer, which is funny because we all still get the same inside jokes. jesse & nolan were over too so we had a great time.
plus my family had aunts & cousins over, and justin had me over to dinner with his family, gosh i love the holidays. good to hear the edwards family is together, too.

we continued the football season today, this time we had 11 people on a windy december day, including all three schroeder boys. and, as promised, i ran all over my brothers. we all had a good time, i hope justin writes about his awesome touchdown catch. and you know who's a trooper? suzy dally. she watched us play (and got my little bro tim to come out and play) all afternoon in the freezing cold. suzy, you are awesome.
jesse & i started work on a 'man project' and its nowhere near finished yet, but its gonna be cool. its a man project if it involves power tools and other manly stuff, so pretty much we're big tough men right now. so what if we're making picture frames? they're cool picture frames. i mean, you will want one for christmas.
tomorrow, get this: i'm running with alaska justin and kathy and then hitting up franklin park mall in toledo to do start some christmas shopping. how cool is that? i get to see two of my friends i haven't seen in months! i'm so excited!
i'm also excited about my new room, because its kind of chilly at night which makes my bed so warm and toasty, plus the humidifier is right next to my bed so i wake up with non-dry or itchy skin, but unfortunately lots of eye-crusties and snot.
my roommate just IM'd me and said "i love you."

how could i forget? i had the best run ever, of my life, yesterday.
jesse and i ran 10 miles in the cold & wind. it was our first bit of freedom from school. which makes one wonder, "why the heck were you running in the freezing cold and not sleeping/hanging out/getting blitzed/that last one was a joke/playing video games?
questions: what is the exact opposite, what is the #1 thing i would rather be doing, what is the best way to experience life and feel something, given my current circumstances, other than being in a boring class?
answer to all the above questions: running 10 hard miles with my best friend in the cold. the last 4 were our fastest, exactly 28 minutes for them. total of 75 minutes for the run.
oh bloggity-bloggey-blogger, i've got big plans for an overhaul for you, if i have some time just sittin on my hands over the next few weeks. you'll be the best blog ever, especially better than that justin kid.
this apartment will, from now on, be "smooth." no more "sorry our apt is messy, we're just guys, y'know?" because that's a lame excuse. (and as i just saw in the thomas crown affair, guys *can* be smooth) we rearranged the furniture, redid the roommates' rooms, all i gotta say is watch out ladies, 'cause here comes q-4. you won't even know what hit you. first the surround sound jazz will come on, maybe some early coltrane or miles (or even on vinyl), then the lights will dim and we'll watch the dashboard dvd (which IS really good, andrew), the candles will be lit (the non-girly candles, that is) etc. etc. there's nothing you can do about it. so don't try to stop it because you can't.
of course, we have to get girls in our apt first. i'm sure there are ways to do that...
unless, of course, you're a guy, because then we'll just stay up all night lighting farts on fire. its the new coolest thing to do. no, the fire will not go back into your body (i don't think so, at least, it hasn't happened to us). and let me clear this up: girls do not fart, girls do not even poop, girls do not in any way, shape, or form smell bad. end of story.
i still haven't seen alaska justin, he's been home for 2 days, we keep missing each other, maybe tomorrow at church. then, at 1pm, i'm going to crush both of my brothers in football.
yay for a light-hearted blog. it's been awhile. we're wayyyy serious a lot.
today's bit of creativity: framing pictures.
