i'm writing this pre-dated because we don't have any power, again, because a car hit a tree and knocked out an electric pole. i hope the passengers are ok.

tonight i watched the terps take on #15 wisconsin, 73-67 in overtime, it was an electrifying game with lots of defense and some of the best fans around. gary williams rules too. next up is gonzaga, then florida...sheesh. the terps have quite the non-conference schedule.

i took a structural dynamics exam, which asked questions that the first exam should have asked, but whatever. as long as i'm average i don't care. speaking of exams, i got my CFD midterm back (the "48 hour take home" if you recall) and got a whopping 57 on the in-class and 100 on the take-home, so i'm on the a-b line again. so i failed to break 60 on an exam again. go figure.

but the final exam is moved from the friday of finals week to a take-home due anytime that week, which means i'll be coming home a day earlier than i'd expected. it also means i'll be done with the semester a day earlier than expected. just two weeks and two days and you can call me susan.

music: holly jolly christmas (it is december, i suppose)
quote: me: "why aren't there any homeworks turned in?"
random student: "because there wasn't any homework due."
me: "oh. that's rockin' awesome!"

sad to leave, happy to be back.

thanksgiving weekend, short version:
after my 2:00pm class i drove a good hard 500 miles to englewood ohio to see the jenna and meet her family, which was kinda scary considering she has two older brothers and two older sisters, all married, plus her parents, all of whom i was meeting for the first time (except for a short lunch with jenna's mom in august). anyway, it was fun and i really wasn't too anxious, but guys, you know how it goes.

i spent the night there, and was wakened in the morning by two babies cryaing and climbing on the living room furniture. i hit the road before noon and stopped by ray's house in covington to toss the ole pigskin before ending my trip to BG in the mid-afternoon. i tackled tim good and hard when he got home. kurt had a nice man talk over wings and beer at jed's. tim and i also took out the parents' new CRV to see the wind power thingies outside of town. to this i say: good job, BG. i'm proud of them.

thanksgiving was spent at my aunt & uncle's place in ottoville with all the cousins and it was awesome to see all of them and eat lots of turkey, ham, and roast beef with a few pies and the usual putnam county fare.

friday we tried to play football but most people were pansies and scared off by the 40 degree drizzle, those who showed up had a good time anyway and we made some hard tackles and got pretty muddy. ole' netface was in town in the afternoon and so we chilled with nolan at allison's place with lucas thrown in the mix as well.

jenna came up to watch the BG-UT game with my parents on saturday and we totally froze our butts off in the third row but it ruled; a classic november football game. i hope ray and pat keep it real on thurs this week when the falcons rematch miami.

jenna and i chilled, or rather, warmed up over the rest of the day in front of a fire in the fireplace while watching some old school muppets and maryland's abysmal defense somehow pull off a win on the grid iron. netface and rene came by later and the girls looked on as i smoked schu in mariokart, it wasn't even pretty. we went to bw-3s and talked about things that are way too mature, like taking out loans and working for the government, then saw some old HS kids at brathaus and an ex-girlfriend.

i drove to cleveland with jenna behind me, as she was heading to PA to continue home-schooling a few kids and i had the pleasure of a 500-mile trek to maryland, which was ok except for the random traffic in pennsylvania. i hate that state, and their roads.

now i'm back in MD, realizing how much the next three weeks will suck, and not wanting to face it. the trip home was great, almost too good, as good times were had by all and some home cooking and familiar faces are hard to leave behind. i know everyone says this, but here are my two observations upon returning home:

1) bowling green is flat.
2) bowling green is small.

i miss it sometimes, but other times its good to be at a place where stuff happens. maybe an edwards will agree.

this post is entirely too long, congratulations if you're still reading. i have to study now but am so tired from the drive and staying up late with the girlfriend that i'm gonna crash, and prompty throw the shee into the fan tomorrow at 9am.

music: lots, paricularly the new amsterdams, further seems forever, taking back sunday to name a few
quote:
hannah: "so where are you living?"
me: "DC"
hannah: "oh, i thought you lived in maryland."
me: "i do. just outside of DC though. its a lot easier to say DC than explain i live in maryland just outside of DC."
hannah (to john): "eric lives in DC."
john (to me): "i thought you lived in maryland."
