can i get someone to write a little summary of the death cab for cutie albums on their blog? i've downloaded a few songs but am looking for a good solid album. give your best musical judgment.
jenna and i are vegetarian this week, and let me tell you its harder than it sounds. i have a taco bell in my classroom building, for instance, and the smell of a bean burrito doesn't do much for my appetite these days. why vegetarian for a week, you ask? nutrition. other than iron and protein, i'm don't think meat is very good for us. but then again there's nothing like some steak on the grill with the boys back home.
mike, i know lots about taylor polynomials because they're the basis for lots of computational fluid dynamics solvers. i don't know much theory, but only how to use them.
and not necessarily but kind of in light of the edwards' experience i'm wiping my ibook clean within the next week. you need to clear out the junk sometimes.
not only that, but did you know that fasting for over five days in a row also cleans out the crap in your body? ashley was telling me, once your body uses the good energy cells over the first day or two of fasting, your body begins to move on to the bad energy cells that in turn will make you feel really, really bad. but by getting rid of the bad cells you actually replenish your body, making your eyes shine brighter and skin healthier. don't believe me? read a book on it, thats what ashley did.
anyway, nights in baltimore are fun, jenna and i discovered the 'one world coffee shop' last night and had some necessary conversations. but everything's good. very good.
i've a 9:30 tomorrow and then maybe some basketball so i best be finding my bed.
music: switchfoot
quote: "dar-ryl! dar-ryl" - the chant that goes up when d.j. strawberry goes to the foul line at away games. and of course, maryland won this time. and its better than the 'crack baby!' chant at wake forest!
theres so many ohio people in DC that its just ridiculous. first jenna and i had a nice dinner in fells point in baltimore at crabby dick's and followed it up with some old school hp. saturday we met up with ray back in college park and rocked it out at robin's place where ray lost himself a bet and jenna and i will find our pockets a little heavier come this weekend. after we brought the rock at church on sunday (dan-o and i tied with four pick scratches on the last song), rick came over and we watched the super bowl amidst some serious food, folks and fun. and brad's gonna be here next weekend?
i love it so much but its seriously weird, because my maryland life seems so far removed from anything reminiscent of ohio. i've given almost ten people the tour of where i live already. so its like i'm here making my new life, with my old friends. a good, but very bizarre feeling. like, i'm going to get in my car, turn left at the stop sign, to right 1/2 mile later, and there's my roommate from last year waiting for me to pick him up. what?
the super bowl actually had a few hitches, in that when rick and i went over to 38th avenue, i said, "hey rick, what's wrong with this street?" "i don't know, what?" he said. "well, do you notice that there aren't any lights on in any of the houses?" thats right, about 20 minutes before kickoff, the power went out. so rick and i trucked it back to my house to watch the uneventful and defensive first half, then made it over to 38th (with the power on) with enough time to see the last few drives and the dumb halftime show. if you're wondering, when the JT-janet incident went down, i had turned to grab some doritos and when i turned back, the camera had already panned over. i missed the whole thing. but eh, i don't know if i really did.
today i upgraded my ibook to 10.3 (its about time, i know) and installed iLife v4 and everything is up and running EXCEPT my ibook isn't suitable for garageband, the recording software that i desperately wanted (for $29, at that). i can't record anything yet because i don't have a USB adapter, but even more importantly and disappointingly, my computer can't handle even the pre-installed loops. this sucka's two years old as of last month as is running on its 600mhz G3 processor with 256 RAM, all pretty lame by todays standards (re: edwardses). so it looks like my recording will have to be shelved until i get some cash or decided to fix the ole tascam four-track. or someone from village drive can send me a digital 12 track if they have one.
so on with helicopter aerodynamics, 1st ed., and on the road with maybe some mere christianity in there. but i want to read some fiction too, the trouble is i haven't found anything as rich as harry potter book 5.
