my cousin nicole is 22 and teaches 7th and 8th graders in napolean or defiance, i can't remember. anyway she took her class on their big class trip to DC this week - so jenna and i drove to virginia to see her tonight. it was great - i'm a groomsman in nicole's wedding in june - so we caught up and laughed a lot in the cool night air. then i realized that fried chicken and wendys should not be eaten on the same day, so my night hasn't been the most fun ever.
tomorrow is my last class of the semester, plus a paper/presentation for another class. finals will be the week after, no thanks to those kids who are finished earlier!
i definitely had a blog yesterday but it didn't happen. what are you gonna do? i downloaded some 'postal service' and found out that the drummer in the dismemberment plan is an aerospace engineering undergrad at UMD. maybe i already told you that. last week of classes is finally here, along with exams and papers and homeworks and the like. sorry i haven't sent in my cashmoneylove justin but you can put me down for an order of the pseudobook dvds. and i'm anxious to hear the 'breaking stones' reprise that mike was telling me about.
i'm thinking of getting some webspace to put up some more photos since my free trial with apple ended, any recommendations? what do the edwardses use? i'd really like to make a movie this summer too, with the ideas floating around in my head. it'd be fun and editing is somehow kinda enjoyable, its like computer programming: takes so much time but its fun to figure it all out.
anyway, helicopter aerodynamics calls so i'm gonna go check that out.
whew, its muggier than a sauna today. some ultimate in the sun, and lets hope some rain to cool things off this evening.
so friday was the nine-month milestone for jenna and me. all the way back to july it was, and its incredible how far we've come both geographically and relationally. we are so happy right now and feel like God's blessed us a ton.
the semester's winding down, and its looking like i'm gonna be living here next year (this house that is). but some things are shady with our lease so its been kinda stressful figuring this crap out. i should be finished with my coursework & thesis by may, 2005 although there's a good chance that may spill over into the following summer. right now i'm a "master's-terminal" student meaning i'm not going to continue on for a phd, at least not yet. i'm finding grad school to be both what i expected and what i didn't expect at the same time. i've made some good friends in the department - most notably justin and karthik, and the office has been a much more culturally diverse place than i'm used to. i'm excited to start work on my thesis for real sometime this summer, when the distraction of classes is gone.
that said, i'm gonna head on campus and finish up a paper hopefully. just two more homeworks, a paper and presentation and i think i'm finished for the year. and oh, two exams!
