this entire blog is somehow written with justin edwards in mind: everyone else, please read too.
have you head damien rice before? jim got me their cd, he's into most of your bands (eisley is a big one) and d.r. is some beautiful music. i'll bring it with me next week if you're around. i know cleveland's been on a tear but can i plug the orioles for a second or two? they're just three games under .500 which still isn't great but consider their last 10 games: sweep of the mariners, four-game sweep of texas, and a 2-1 series in anaheim. six guys hitting over .300, including tejada with 106 rbi's or something sick like that and melvin mora at .348 with 21 hrs and 70 rbis. plus javy, etc. a series at the crappy blue jays this weekend makes the picture even brighter, then i'm set to see a home game against the a's next week...i'm not thinking about the 'P' word yet but maybe just a little?
and not only will your florida plans be ruined by the hurricane but some bigger plans as well -> jenna's leading a five-person mission team down to haiti again this week. her flight is supposed to get into miami at 10:10 this morning, then leave for pot-au-prince a few hours later. i'm praying lots and i really hope some readers will too.
so i'll be home next thursday for some festivites with kurt ras., set to get married on the 21st. a week follows with jesse and netface, a trip to hocking hills with tim, and then another wedding with zach kallenbach on the 28th. sometime in there i want to squeeze in a short with you justin? yours, not mine.
mike, i really really like your stuff and am anxious for your whole album to be finished. and justin's to be started. congrats on the new apt.
i know i talk about jenna's life a lot on this blog but that's because her life pretty much is my life. her baltimore experience was terrible and ridiculously unbelievable that i wonder how many people see the truth in my words. but the bottom line is this: the baltimore experience is over. OVER. she's moved again, but out of the city and into my town with four other girls from our church in a five-bedroom brick monster of a house near the REI and the beltway. can you believe it? here's the stats on her six months in baltimore: four moves. three flat tires. half a dozen jump starts. one transmission pan, two gaskets, faulty electrical wiring and two new tires. one accident. three crazy people, plus the parking lot guy at night. a cat that pees and poops on her roommate's bed. and an unfit job.
so she's moved to college park, about three miles from me, and we're set to be super-involved at our church which i'm excited about. we can see each other every day now and not waste an hour in traffice to drive 25 miles. she applied for, interviewed, and was offered another Americorps position in DC, on capitol, doing much more direct service and reaching more needy schoolkids to help them get out of the city.
things, my friends, are finally looking up. i'm happy.
that's the short version of everything. i'll be home in less than a week to tell more if you want to hear it.
now, onto work, and a housewarming party for kentucky justin.
please pray for this haiti trip. pray for lives to be changed, the mission to benefit, and safety in the hurricane.
some exciting things are in store here in maryland. the church, its people, and my friends. so exciting i can barely hold it in, i feel as to burst, the things that are happening here.
today was frisbee and painting.
tomorrow is a 2-hour run and probably more painting.
eleven days from now will be ohio. i miss justin schu and kurt.
