new dc baseball team! this stuff has been in the paper for months (years, really) and i've always been pessimistic (for good reason). the site is really good, and i think the senators would be a good name back. but maybe its cursed since the senators of old were horrible. a poplular name is 'the grays' which was the last negro league team in the area. i like "the washington red tape." or maybe even, "the washington traffic." sign me up for a game next april!
speaking of games, my friend Stefan got Jim and i tickets to a knicks-cavs game in november at MSG. why there? because stefan's from germany and knows they hype around lebron. and, its in new york.
go astros. they deserve it after sweeping the cards. the al west? i'd like to see anaheim get it.
i bought the postal service and the new fsf last night (jenna bought ben harper and lucinda williams) and i'd heard both of my cds before. i'm impressed with the music on fsf but the new singer is the anti-old singer who was similar to the original singer but the new singer is kinda blah. postal service rules, of course. i didn't know they were on sub pop?
in the emergency room last night, getting jenna's knee checked out, and i saw a family try to cope with the news of a loved one's death in a car accident.
life IS bricks. jenna popped her knee pretty good. yeouch.
the running is progressing smoothly, a 17-miler this weekend felt really good and some speed work this morning felt pretty good. with jeanne making its way to DC tomorrow's 11-miler may be rained out. running has been great for me this summer/fall but i seriously don't have time for anything else.
jenna and i worked on a song yesterday about baltimore. on an 8-track soon.
was it just me or were there not any exciting college games this weekend? not that i have a tv to watch them, but there was no suspense anyway. maryland destroyed duke though!
looking for a good band name...right now we have a few:
"Frank Skretch" - the coolest mets fan i know
"Ready, Set, Forget" - apologies to J
"Venezuela"
"Red"
