well actually i have photobooth already, but its one of those CDs that i haven't gotten around to really getting into. too many recommendations from friends - now in the cd player is 'chavez,' a recording from '96 that sounds like a precursor to guitar-heavy indie rock, its pretty alright. and i heard the new jimmy album online - i think this one may be even bigger than bleed american. why? its accessible to the indie rockers with some really cool guitar work and some interesting vocal leads with a femal vocal (rachel?) on a couple tracks. its catchy. its rock. and it might just be huge.

and get this. i worked on an abstract for a conference paper to be published next semester, and put in a 16-hour day to get it done. of course then, we decide to submit it next week so as to let our computer simulations run some more. glad i put in that monster day.

i am glad without the sarcasm to not have to run the baltimore marathon relay tomorrow. my legs have been sore since a 20-miler on tuesday when my calf cramped up real nice. i haven't run since, with some quarterbacking for flag football practice. maybe i'll get in 30 mins today. but not a 10K race. no sir.

midnight madness is tonight (which maryland started 30 years ago!) and the homecoming game vs. nc state tomorrow. go terps. and if st. louis faces the yankees in the world series (not that i'm losing hope), at least the cards have decent pitching and monster hitting - the combo that's needed to drill the yankees where it hurts 'em. and it would make for a dang good series.

its friday, i want to go home, so i just might.

holy cow. 20 miles today kicked my butt. i had some nice shooting pains in my calf, and pretty much everything hurts after running for 2:40. but I did it, and that's an accomplishment in itself. now i can rest in peace tonight and watch the sox kick the crap out of the yankees.

my first homework assignment of the year kinda kicked my butt yesterday, i worked on it from 9am to 11pm, with a nice windows server crash mixed in there, but thankfully i only lost 3 hours of work. thank you, microsoft.

i'm jealous of justin, chillin' with ben. sorry you had to see a losing game but now, one streak is over and another is beginning? imagine clemens facing off against his own team again..,this time in the WS. count me in.

a weekend retreat to the eastern shore was awesome last week. after a five hour drive, to go 70 miles, we maxed and relaxed with God and some churchies for a while. gosh it was a great RETREAT. funny how we have to retreat from our lives. i remember an edwardsian post on that. and yes mike, bowling green is a big frozen concrete slab but if there was not concrete would it be beautiful? at times, yes. i love going to my relatives' place out in the country to chill with the wind and the flatness of ohio. but is it the most beautiful? nah. we can both think of something that would help BG's case: hills.
